In conjunction with the release of his Throw Down Your Heart album, Bela Fleck has announced new tour dates. If you haven’t heard about this project it is really cool. Fleck visits Africa to discover the origins of the banjo and as he travels he plays with all sorts of musicians.

Well I caved, I got a Twitter account for AlternativeBanjo. I figured I’d use for more informal, less banjo related items. I love discovering/hearing about obscure bands (listen to “Willow Tree”) or unbelievable mashups but usually it isn’t enough to warrant a blog post, so from now on I’ll use twitter for this instead. Now I know that Christmas has come and gone but the Christmas spirit has been rejuvenated. Songs for Christmas vol. 8 has been leaked to the public!
